No registration is necessary. She is the author of two previous books, Black South Africans, a Who’s Who, which she published under Dee Shirley Deane, and Wisdom, bliss, & common sense: secrets of self-transformation, which she published under her Indian name, Darshani Deane. NEW!!! African-American Read-In Events: Saturday, February 11 @ 10:30am and Thursday, February 16 @ 4pm in the Paddison Room. Kernersville Branch Library along with sponsorship from the NC Writer’s Network will present to read-ins celebrating African-American writers. We will have readings from contemporary and classic authors on both dates. I am looking for folks willing to do 10-15 minute readings during the event dates. Please register to either read or attend by calling 703-2930. This will be a family friendly event for ages 12 and older.
NEW!!! After 5 Readers first meeting will take place on Monday, February 27 from 6-7:30pm in the Paddison Room. We will discuss Pay it forward by Catherine Ryanour Hyde as well as our reading plan and meeting schedule for the rest of 2012. This is a readers book club for those who want to really discuss interesting, topical books. We will look at a variety of different books and anyone interested in a particular discussion is free to join us. We will meet the last Monday of each month.
