Hello! Thank you for indicating your interest in getting advanced notice of Kernersville programs for all ages. Here are the FREE programs coming to Kernersville in the month of September.
 
 
Advanced Planning!!!
There is a scrapbooking club being organized now (to start in January 2012). If you are interested in shaping this club, please let Crystal Holland know! There will be an Introduction to Scrapbooking class in December. Keep your eyes open for more information to come.
 
On the Same Page 2011- Community Reads Program Celebrates 10 Years!
This year’s On the Same Page program (Sept. 10 – Oct. 16) will feature Cameron Kent’s The Road to Devotion. It is set in the 1860s in Winston, North Carolina. The book is a simple, family-friendly read with an engaging plot and fantastic pieces of history intertwined. The themes of compassion, friendship, and hope are brilliantly developed in this historical fiction novel.
 
Kernersville area events will include a book discussion at Shakespeare and Company on Sept. 17 from 2-4 pm, a writing workshop lead by Jennifer Stevenson on Oct. 1 from 10:30 am-12 noon, and a library book discussion on Oct. 6 from 12-1 pm with the Noon Book Club.

Thursday, September 1 @ 12 noon in the Paddison Room- Noon Book Club welcomes author Molly Rawls as she discusses her recent book Old Salem and Salem College. This is a wonderful collection of photographs & postcards which chronicle the earliest years of these historic locations.
 
Monday, September 12 @ 6:00 pm in Room 7- Raising Healthy Kids in the New Millennium.

Friday, September 16 @ 4:30 pm in Room 1- On the Same Page: Friendship Quilt Craft. Join us as we celebrate this year’s community read On the Same Page selection, Cameron Kent’s The Road to Devotion. You can design your own quilt square on the theme of friendship, and then we’ll put them all together and display the quilt in the library! For ages 18 and under. Registration is required. Saturday, September 17 @10:30 am in Room 7- Baby Signs Storytime. Join us for an introductory Baby Signs storytime with certified Baby Signs instructor Amanda Creider and learn how to use sign language to communicate with your baby or toddler. For ages 6 months to 3 years. Registration is required and is limited to 15 babies! To register, call 703-2930.
 
Wednesday, September 21 @ 4:30 pm in Room 1- Teen Zumba. Try out this dance-based workout that’s sweeping the nation! No experience necessary! Make sure to wear your fitness clothes and sneakers and bring a bottle of water! For ages 12-18. 
 
Weekly Storytimes are Back!
Wednesdays @ 10:15am in Room 4- Preschool Storytime (ages 3-6). 
Thursdays @ 10:30am in Room 4- Toddler Storytime (ages 2 and under).
