Hello! Thank you for indicating your interest in getting advanced notice of Kernersville programs for all ages. Here are the FREE programs coming to Kernersville in the month of July/August.
Summer Reading Program
We are wrapping up summer reading across the Forsyth County Library system. The final prize distribution dates are July 25-31. Kernersville Branch prize drawings (gift cards, tote bags, lunch bags) will be held the first week in August. Winners will be notified by August 5th. Good luck to all readers!!!

Thursday, August 11 @ 11am in the Paddison Room- Take to the Skies: International Travel. This is the final seminar in the summer travel series. All participants get prizes for coming, along with very useful information! Door prize give aways have been very popular. Come join us!
Monday, August 15 @ 6pm in Room 7- Golf Ergonomics has been resheduled and promises to be a great time! If you are a golfer or would like to get started and stay safe, come out. A golf pro will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate proper technique. RSVP is required. Call 336-703-2932 or email hollancd@forsyth.cc to let me know you are coming!
Friday, August 19 @ 2pm in Room 4- Join in a discussion of Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love. We will look at how the different versions of her book (print, audio, movie) have moved audiences around the world. Popcorn, drinks, and a raffle drawing for a hardback copy of the book await!!!

Friday, July 22 @ 3pm in Room 1- Local author Nick Barry of Kernersville will discuss his Ethan Sparks Adventures series for ‘tweens and teens, as well as his writing process. He’ll also be signing autographs. If you’re a fan of the Percy Jackson series, you’ll love the Ethan Sparks series. For ages 18 and under.
Friday, July 29 @ 3 pm in Room 1- Magician Fish the Magish presents “Magic around the World,” which features storytelling, comedy, and dynamic magic tricks! For ages 18 and under.
Weekly Storytimes in July
Wednesdays @ 10:15am in Room 4 – Preschool Storytime (ages 3-6). 
Thursdays @ 10:30am in Room 4 – Toddler Storytime (ages 2 and under). 
NOTE: There will not be any storytime or other programs in the month of August for children or teens!

Thursday, August 4 @ 12 noon in the Central Library Auditorium- Renowned author and playwright, Ifa Bayeza, is coming to Central Library for a reading of her book Some Sing, Some Cry, followed by a book signing. Some Sing, Some Cry, co-written with her sister, Ntozake Shange, is the book from which the 2011 National Black Theatre Festival celebrity dramatic reading of Charleston Olio is based.
